It is obtained chiefly from eucalyptus wood from forests managed in a sustainable way that guarantees their reforestation. Production of the fibre is a closed loop process in which over 99% of the solvent is recovered and reused – this, in turn, allows for the reduction of water and energy consumption. TENCEL™ Lyocell is certified by EU Ecolabel and as such meets high environmental standards in terms of production process – from obtaining raw materials to their distribution and utilisation. Cellulose fibre is biodegradable and does not pollute water with microplastics.
